Inside Word with Freak – 06/15/2010

Details continue to surface on the new BLACK LABEL SOCIETY disc. It’ll be called “Order of the Black” and feature four different covers . . . one each for North America, Europe, Australia, & South America/Asia. The first single is something called “Parade of the Dead” and is scheduled for an Aug 11th release though it along with another song called “Crazy Horse” have already been leaked on the internet. Look for Zakk and the boys to headline the second stage of this summer’s Ozzfest tour.

MEGADETH have released a furious new song called “Sudden Death” exclusively to the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock video game. Look for that to surface sometime soon.

TOOL/A PERFECT CIRCLE/PUSCIFER front-nerd Maynard James Keenan says he’s quietly working on new material for both TOOL & APERFECT CIRCLE. Look for TOOL to spend the summer touring.

The Randy Rhoads Museum will open later this year in Corona California. It’s just a short distance from Randy’s grave site and has the blessing of his family.

Checking the “That Never Happens Around Here” files we find MOTORHEAD screamer Lemmy joining Slash on stage for a rousing rendition of “Doctor Alibi” at the Download Festival in Donnington UK June 13th. Search You-Tube for video footage of the jam session.

And finally. . . Not that the world was screaming for it but WHITESNAKE wine is coming to a Chateau near you soon. Whitesnake Zinfandel ships July 1 and, according to front-crooner David Coverdale, is “a bodacious, cheeky little wine filled to the brim with the spicy essence of sexy, slippery snakeyness”.  It’s also said to compliment all “hot tub jollies” whatever they may be.
